I made my way through the larger than I thought restaurant and found a table outside in the back. Home of the bonut, and the East Nasty - named 2015s Best Sandwich in America by Bon Appetit. In looking at the menu, I decided on the Princess (biscuit, Nashville style spicy “hot chicken” thigh, pickles, mustard, and honey), and of course a glass of sweet tea. I’m pretty sure I smiled at that moment and looked like a complete crazy person smiling to herself. The lined moved quickly, and as soon as I got the door, it opened, and the sweet sweet smell of fried chicken and homemade biscuits wafted thought the air. You know it’s good when you come around the corner of the street and see a line down the sidewalk coming out of the restaurant. So while on a recent trip to Nashville, I opted to try a breakfast/brunch place called Biscuit Love. The lines do get very long and it is difficult to go to with large groups of people.Nashville, TN is one of the best places in the south that a foodie can feel right at home – especially if you have a love for all things fried and southern like I do. However, if I lived there it probably isn’t a place I would go every Saturday for brunch. It highlights the Nashville culture and provides delicious food of the South. I definitely think that if you are visiting Nashville this is a staple that you have to check out. That being said, he wants to go back and try something more like I had because he was jealous of my biscuit! Was it worth it?
The buttermilk biscuit was a little too dry for his liking and he said he would have needed much more gravy to make up for that fact.
He loved the gravy and chicken but, unlike me, he was not a huge fan of his biscuit. This is a buttermilk biscuit with a fried chicken thigh, cheese, and gravy. It was fluffy and moist and the homemade apricot jam they served with it was delectable! I had the Egg Plate which came with two eggs, grits, bacon, and a biscuit! Everything was cooked perfectly. It was just Tyrell and I that dined at this restaurant. I thought it was super cute and trendy and it made me feel at home! The staff was wonderful and I loved their uniforms with Biscuit Love shirts on. It has a farm house feel with lots of wood and white walls. There was bright lights spelling out Nashville on the wall. The Gulch location that we went to was all about Nashville. They had the cutest hats, t-shirts, and knick-knacks to buy! I was seriously considering making a purchase but decided to wait. Once we made it inside the building the lines walk you around their gift items to purchase. There are two large community tables which they will try to have ready for you once you reach the front of the line. You must order before you are seated so take the time to figure out what you want! They do not accept reservations so if you are going with a larger group they cannot guarantee you will be sat together. Once you are in line they will bring you menus. However, we have heard that the line can sometimes take up to an hour if you go at peak times. I’d say we waiting about 15-20 minutes before making it to the front of the line. Even though we started around the corner, the line moved surprisingly fast. We should have brought an umbrella since it wasn’t long before it started to drizzle. Yep, they were all waiting in line to get into Biscuit Love. When we arrived at The Gulch which is the shopping center home to Biscuit Love and the wings wall mural, we notice a line of people around the corner. The South is know for biscuits and chicken so we knew we had to check this place out. One of these staple restaurants in Nashville is Biscuit Love. It has led us to grungy cafes with the best coffee ever and it has also taken us to staple restaurants that the locals are proud of.
